as...as not as...as The first man is not as heavy as the...

Use as…as when two things are equal or the same.       
Use not as…as to say that one thing is less…than the other.
      as tall as                      not as tall as (=shorter)
      as good-looking as    not as good-looking as  (=uglier)
      as heavy as                 not as heavy as (=lighter)
      wrong:  as taller as    wrong:  not as heavier as
a.   (heavy) The first man is  not as heavy as  the third man.
1.  (heavy) The first man is as heavy as the second man.
2.  (handsome) The second man is as handsome as the first one.
3.  (good-looking) The third man is not as good-looking as the first one.
4.  (tall) The third man is not as tall as the second man.
5.  (fair-skinned*) The first man is not as fair-skinned as the second one.   *having light-colored skin
6.  (dark-skinned) The second man is not as dark-skinned as the first one.

Look at the pictures. Use as…as or not as…as. Don’t use more… or -er.
7.  (wide) The first shoe is not as wide as the second shoe.
8.  (narrow) The second shoe is not as narrow as the first shoe.
9.  (long) The man’s hair is not as long as the woman’s hair.
10.      (dark) The womans’s hair is not as dark as the man’s hair.
11.    (wrinkled   , arrugado, мятый, جعدة) The second pair of pants is not as wrinkled as the first pair.
12.   (long) The second pair of pants is not as long as the first pair.
