Gerund or Infinitive: We got to the party late because...


Gerund (-ing): has already begun/happened           
 Infinitive (to ...):  not yet happened or begun
1.    We got to the party late because we had to stop (changing, to change) a flat tire.
       Think: Did they change the tire before they stopped or after they stopped?
2.    That's strange. This picture is in my album, but I don’t even remember (taking, to take) it.
3.    Remember (getting, to get) salt at the store, OK? We don't have any left.
4.    He had a heart attack*, so the doctor told him he had to stop (smoking, to smoke).
       *  , ataque al corazón, сердечный приступ, أزمة قلبية
5.    The neighbors want the restaurant owner to stop (giving, to give) away left-over* food to street people at the end of the evening. *吃剩的, que sobra, المتبقي , объе́дк|и
6.    The music was so good. It was hard to stop (dancing, to dance). We wanted to keep on, but it was getting late.
7.    I don’t remember (buying, to buy) this. The checker must have put it in my bag by mistake. I wonder if he charged* me for it? *收费, 索价, cobrar, просить, يحاسب
