Class and CRN: Level 5,

Instructor: Mr.
Roland Trego
Time and Room: Monday-Friday,
10:00-11:40 am, Room 319
Semester*: Spring,
2013 *学 期, семестр

Every
week I will post exercises and recordings so you can listen and practice.
Book: You
don't need to buy a book; however, you must a buy a three-ring binder
(活页夹, capeta, скоросшиватель) for your papers and bring it every day.
Tests: You
must take tests throughout* the semester. *贯 穿, durante todo, в течение
If
you don't pass your test, you must take it again. You must learn all the
irregular simple past verb forms. You may
not go to Level 6 if you do not know them.
Punctuality*: *准 时, puntualidad, пунктуальность You must come
to class on time. If you must come late because you take your child to school
in the morning, tell me now. I will put your name on my list. If you must leave
early, tell me at the beginning of
class, not when you are leaving.
Seating and You
must sit where I tell you to sit. You must study and practice with other
pair/group work: students
in this class. You may not just work alone.
Cell phones, Turn
off your phone or put it on 'vibrate' (颤动, vibrar,
вибри́ровать). Do not answer
music, and videos: your
phone in class. Leave the room and talk in the hall. You may not make video
recordings in class.
Cheating: If
you cheat (作 弊, copiar/hacer trampa,
списывать) on a test, I will take your test away and give you a 0%. Cheating is dishonest (不 诚 实 的, poco honrado, нечестный) and shameful (可 耻
的, vergonzoso,
позорный). In the U.S., universities often expel (kick out, 把…开除, expulsar, исключать) students who
cheat.
Respect others!! In our class, you must respect (尊 敬, respetar, уважать) and work with students who are
different from you. Some students come from different countries or cultures (文化, culturas, культура) than you. Some have different sexual orientations (性取向, orientaciones sexuales, Сексуальная ориентация). Some are older
or younger, and some have handicaps (残疾的, minusválidos, физическая
неполноценность). If you make fun of (嘲笑,嘲弄, burlarse de,
издеваться) or insult (辱骂, insultar/injuriar, оскорблять) other students, I may ask you to leave class. City
College may expel you (开除, 把…除名, expulsar,
исключать) if you continue. If a student is harassing (不断打扰, acosar, изводить) you, you must tell me so I can
help you.
