San Francisco Pics

Out and About in San Francisco

I have finally figured out how to embed a slideshow on the blog, so now you don't need to link to another site. Nonetheless, if you like a picture and want to download it, you can go to:
https://picasaweb.google.com/rolandsf/OutAboutInSanFrancisco?authuser=0&feat=directlink
Click on a picture. Under ACTIONS at the top, you can select DOWNLOAD PICTURE.

These pictures were all taken in San Francisco. How many of the places have you been to?
(present perfect: in your whole life)

have been and have gone
In present perfect, have been can mean have gone when a destination (终点, destino, ме́сто назначе́ния, وجهة) comes after it:

Have you ever been to Cuba? = Have you ever goneto Cuba?

Watch out! You cannot switch BE and GO in other tenses:

Wrong:
I was to Canada three times last year.
Right: I wentto Canada three times last year.

Wrong: I am to Cuba twice a year.
Right: I go to Cuba twice a year.

Filoli Gardens

I took this picture at Filoli Gardens several years ago. Here is the link to my album. (Click on SLIDESHOW in the upper left-hand corner.)

https://picasaweb.google.com/rolandsf/Filoli?authuser=0&authkey=Gv1sRgCLK8zbLu1vPF-AE&feat=directlink

Filoli is located about 40 minutes south of San Francisco, off Highway 280. The best time to visit is in mid-April, when all the daffodils and fruit trees are blooming. It's best to get there in the morning. You cannot enter after 2:30, and they close at 3:30. You need at least a couple of hours to see everything.

Here is a Google map showing you where Filoli is:

If you go to the Filoli Web site, you can see what flowers are blooming.
